I have never heard this term before but here is a definition from a Google Search:
Dropper
[From the server message: Player *** drops connection.] A player on a backgammon server who avoids a reduction to his rating by intentionally leaving a match he is about to lose before the result recorded.

Since Astraware Board Games does not allow one to play against an opponent over the internet, this is not applicable to this game and I am not certain why you asked here. I see by my Google search that you have asked this question many places. With regard to what to do about it, do not play that person.

Hi,
A backgammon dropper is a person who purposely leaves an online backgammon game (http://www.gammonempire.com) at a crucial moment to save losing points. This is a form of cheating that is not tolerated within the online backgammon community. Sometimes of a person disappears from the game it can be a genuine reason such as a disconnection. This is common with some dial up internet connections and can take time to reboot or get connected again. Be patient in this scenario.
