There\'s a section Jan wrote in our FAQ section about brinkley : go to astraware.com/faq and enter brinkley as a search word :)

Ok... you have to complete the entire quest. When you start the quest again, you can choose which level you want to do. You need to complete tank 1-5 (? I think that\'s what it is) without any fish dying. The easiest way I have found to do this is to just keep the two guppies you start with. Do not buy anymore and when you choose your pets, do not choose Prego.

Do not buy a carnivore because they will eat your guppies. If you don\'t feed the carnivore it will die and you will not be able to unlock Brinkley. Keep playing until you get $16,000. It takes some time with only two fish, but it can be done :). Then you need to buy a carnivore. This will unlock the egg pieces. Quickly purchase the 3 egg pieces to complete the level. Now you can unlock Brinkley.

On any level, in any mode start a game with no more than 2 pets. Write an Uppercase \"B\" and Brinkley the Scuba Diving Elephant will appear. If you have 3 pets already chosen, he will not come out.

Another question would be how many new people have joined of visited this \'community\' since the last time it was described?

Another question would be how many people, who have joined the community have read every single post about a particular game before asking a question - just to see if it had been mentioned before (especially when most comments are made during the beta testing phase)?

So relax a bit ;)

is there gonna be updates for the UX clie compatibility? Tried the Hires+ version and the screen is off. Have to stick with the Hires version for now :( and I think it doesn't work very well coz I still can't buy anything.

Hi Arcanehacker,

Our current version of Hi-res+ Insaniquarium was written a while before the release of the new UX series, which are designed to work entirely in a "landscape" format rather than the older devices portrait mode. This means it goes about drawing to the screen differently to those older devices.

Fortunately, Larry has been working hard on upgrading our core systems to allow for these differences, and a new version of Insaniquarium will shortly go through the internal and beta testing we always do before release!

I hope the wait won't be too long for you, but it's coming :)

Hi ppl! Thanks for the info on how to obtain Brinkley, the scuba diving elephant.

My BF was working hard to find it but to no avail. We thought one has to work for it in Challenge mode, so my BF took up the challenge and found nothing. So he was very disappointed and has since lost interests in Insaniquarium!
Sheesh! Imagine I paid for his piece of the game as a X'mas gift.

Anyway, now with the new info, I can arouse his interests again and lets see if he can find Brinkley this time. :) Thank you again for asking the Q!

This is impossible! How could one not lose a single fish and complete the Quest of hatching the eggs when one's fishes are under attack by multiple aliens. If I have only one fish, may be it's easier to protect it.

I kept trying last night and I have ended up even more frustrated. This is mission impossible!

Why does it have to be so d*** difficult? :(

If Brinkley was easy to get he wouldn't be very hidden would he ;)

Seriously, some tactics to complete level 1-5 make it harder to fulfil the criteria than others. It's not possible to approach this level in the same way as you normally would. For instance, upgrading your laser is vital to removing Balrog and Sylvester as fast as possible. You can't focus on killing one and then moving onto the other, you have to push them around the tank keeping them away from the fish, and they'll die eventually.

I like Wadsworth for this level, as he will help keep the smaller fish safe, and reduce the number of fish on the screen. Actually, I rather like Wadsworth in general, so that may just be me :)

I'm sure others will have useful tactics to suggest soon too!

Some people find that it is easiest to have only 2 guppies when you are trying the level because it is easy to keep the aliens away from only 2 guppies.
Another hint: You have to buy a carnivore to unlock the egg. If you feed it a guppy it means that you failed the quest for Brinkley, but paradoxically if you let it die you also fail. The trick is to get enough money to buy all 3 sections of the egg straight away after you buy the carnivore to unlock the egg. That way you complete the level before anything dies.
I suppose it might have been better to have Brinkley unlocked after completing challenge mode, but I was trying to keep it similar to the way of unlocking him in the original game.
Finding Brinkley is hard because it is supposed to be the toughest challenge in the game! But don't worry if you can't - Brinkley is cute, but not very powerful.

I did it using Jan's strategy. Sure it takes longer, but it's much easier to protect two fish than twenty. You definately need to get enough money to be able to purchase all of the egg pieces and the the carvnivore before you purchase the carnivore. Once you have him just get all three egg pieces and you are home free :) Good Luck!

Could I ask if you're using Insaniquarium for the Palm/Pocket PC, or the more recently released Insaniquarium Deluxe (for PC) from PopCap? The way to obtain Brinkley may well have changed between the original Insaniquarium and the new desktop PC version!

I have the Deluxe version on Windows XP. But thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought I was doing something wrong! LOL!!

Sorry Jan and Kieren! I complained a bit too soon. Strangely, after installing v1.2, I managed to get Brinkley on my first try!

With v1.09, I was struggling all the time. Or it's just my skills getting better? :p I felt that it's more down to luck really.

Anyway, after hatching Brinkley and playing a few games with it, I realised it was really worth all the hard work and hassle (badly scratched screen protector as a result of aggressive attack on the aliens), lol! This is just life, I guess. Anyway, at least I have one more pet now!

Btw, what adventure mode? I thought there is only Quest, Time Trial and Challenge mode? The other 2 pets is up to you. I usually pick the Mermaid and the Seahorse. But you could well pick the whale to protect your young fishes.

I think CoolAngel2k4 is playing the new PC Insaniquarium Deluxe. Insaniquarium for PDA is based on an older version, and has not yet been updated to the newer version. It only goes up to level 2-5. Insaniquarium Deluxe has another 10 levels!

i know how to kill the robot.... i meant at level 4-2 the skeleton alien... in deluxe version and adventure mode!!

Cute to have but not really worth the hassle IMHO. ;)

you in level 3-3 you just get itchy then he'll kill him it might take a couple minutes though but it works and DON"T shoot him or he'll become stronger.

just make sure when you go into the level if you want to kill the octopus guy just bring itchy then he will kill him if you don't then there's no hope for u or your fish! =) :)

in tank 3-4 the thing that they give you no notice about the alien coming it happens more and more when you get to higher levels starting from level 3-4 so be on guard

Hi glitterbug978,

This alien is a bit tricky to beat, as he's different to any of your previous opponents. First off he is very tough indeed - you're best advised upgrading your laser a few levels to help defeat him. Watch out for the homing missiles he fires, as they will hunt your fish down - you can shoot these missles, and he normally only fires 3 at a time. Take the time out from blasting him to shoot those missiles down!

In between his salvos of missiles, just keep hammering him, and he will eventually die!
