View Full Version : Possible bug in game selection?

I am not sure if anyone else has ever seen this, but I can frequently cause the game selection icons on the title page to not match their descriptions.

Let's say I start Solitaire and I wind up at the main menu. The icon and game currently selected is Calculation. If I click the Idiots Delight icon directly (that is, without using the arrow selectors), the jester icon moves to the fore, but the game text description says "Golf".

Default screen. I will next click the jester/Idiot's Delight icon.

After I clicked the jester icon in the top right. Notice it shows (and will play if clicked) Golf, not Idiot's Delight.
Now if I continue to click the extreme upper or lower icon (Calculation or Clock) as shown on this screen, the game type will be "off" by one. In other words, if I click Clock, the game will show Canfield with the Clock icon. If I were to click the Calculation icon, the game would be Golf but with the Calculation icon shown. Clicking to the immediate "left" or "right" of the selected game icon will select the correct game and icon. It is only if I select the games on either edge of the selection "wheel" that the problem occurs.

I have reproduced this numerous times, and across two or three device resets. The game is v1.10, and my device is a Dell Axim X51v with A012 ROM. The game is running off the 2GB CF card on my unit incidentally.

Has anyone else seen this issue?

BTW, say hello for me to Alison at corporate from breley from Mobilitysite!:D

Oops, sorry for belaboring the apparently obvious! Excuse me while I awkwardly crawl back under my rock.

actually, if it had been obvious, it would have been found and fixed before the first release. so, thanks for posting.

No, not at all, it's always worthwhile posting these, even if it's one we've seen, because it helps to have these things confirmed on more than one device.

As always, if you're interested in becoming a beta tester, we'd be very happy to have you join us!

Kind regards
Alison

By the way: this seems to have been fixed in the Winter Edition, even though it is not documented.

Yup! It was driving me a little crazy that it wasn't working, so I fixed it for the winter edition whilst I was updating the code :) The next release of the "original" game will include the fix too :)
