I have been working with QuickBasic for a year now, and decided to release one of my games. It is a DOS game, but will run on Windows. The instructions and source code are included in the download. The game is completely free. :) :)

Well, it downloaded, unzipped and ran just fine for me, but was kinda fast - but then my wife's PC is a 3GHz machine...

It could get pretty fast on new hardware. This is because if I used a TIMER to limit the FPS, almost no computers could play it fast enough. (The TIMER function is slow :()
But if you want to see it really fast, run it in DOS on your 3GHz! :)

Hi Kristopher,
I had a quick go of your game..its a nice idea but it was pretty much unplayable on my PC as it runs way too fast!
You need to find a way of limiting the speed so that it doesnt run too fast, if you can do that then the game will be much better.
Cheers

You can hold the down arrow key for several seconds, and it will slow down. The same speed delay is alterable through the options, which you can access through the main menu. :D

Cool! I just found this page. I'm a bit hopeless when it comes to surfing the site. Not sure if I can download these in the office. Policies, etc. But would quite like to have a play of em. What's the general rundown on how these play Kris? Somebody said these are quite original so I'm all intrigued.
Hmm, I've made loads of old bits n pieces of games in Director. Wonder if I can get em on t'interweb for peeps to download and have a go on. Tell you what, if you're interested in the dodgy programming of a lowly artist, give me a shout and I might figure out how to make em free to download. Barely any of em are finished, but hey-ho. Is all good fun.

This was some great fun in my programming history. Fortunately, I have moved to more modern programming languages (not for DOS). :-P
These games are fairly simple, so you should be able to figure them out without instructions. :)
