On the whole I like the new menu system in the 1.30 release. There is one minor thing I miss from the earlier versions.
I'd like some way (if there isn't one already) to see what difficulty level applies to the current puzzle. When I'm resuming a puzzle I started a few days ago, it's nice to have an idea what I'm getting into.
In older versions, pressing the menu button showed a dialog that described the current puzzle.
Aside from that, great release!

A single tap to the writing area of the screen will show the difficulty level of the puzzle; but this may be easier than the difficulty you initially chose because it reflects the difficulty to finish the puzzle from the current position, not initial difficulty. It will also give you abbreviations for the different solving techniques that must be used to solve the puzzle. It's a hint box, but doesn't show up as a hint in the statistics.

Wow... I had no idea that feature was there, but I like it!
So Had... how about bringing some attention to this one. Maybe a menu item like "About->This Puzzle" ?

That makes a lot of sense :)
I've added it to the to-do list and hopefully I should be able to include it in the next version.

Is this available on all models? Maybe I am not familiar with a "writing area'? The only area I am familiar with that you can write on is the notepad, and trying to single tap on that screen does nothing. Were is the writing area you refer to?
Thanks

Never mind. I found the equivelant on the Treo 700W. All you have to do is press the period key, and you get the popup telling the difficulty rating.
Now, if I could only figure out how to turn the pencil marks off.

Yes, that's right - the game was actually optimised for the Treo style layout of keys, so there are several keyboard shortcuts available for common things you might want to do.
h for hint
u for undo
SPACE for toggle notes overlay
w for reset puzzle
q for abandon
'.' for a difficulty rating (of the remaining puzzle)
The number keys act like number keys whether you hold down the character shift or not - but you can toggle whether you want them to enter a value or a pencilmark with the centre button of the 5-way.
