Zapwave - thoughts?

Thinking about buying a Zapwave device on Ebay. I prefer mid-priced Sony Clies but they are getting hard to find. I don't like to buy Palm's devices because I feel they treated me badly on a customer service problem and I'm basically boycotting them (PalmOne).

I don't know anything about Tapewave, except that they are handheld consoles and are no longer being made or supported.

Anyone know anything?

Problems running Astraware, PopCap, etc. Palm OS games?

Can you also run other aps, like book readers?

I play games and read books extensively on my Palm OS devices now and don't want to give up one for the other

Yikes. That's supposed to be Tapwave, not Zapwave. I guess I was thinking of Tapwave Zodiac and combined the two words somehow in my brain.

The Tapwave is an OS5 color screen device, so it should run pretty much all of our Palm OS games quite happily.

It is worth considering though, that if you buy one and it goes wrong, you don't really have anywhere to take it for repair.

If you do decide to get one, then www.tapland.com is a well-known Zodiac owners community. Hope this helps.

Yup, I have a Zodiac and regard it as the best Palm OS on the market at this time! Great device, runs all the Astraware games,, as far as I know. Mine just broke, but I ordered 2 more from the US :). Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be sure to help you out!

Where are you getting them from in the US?

BTW, I did get one. Love it. No problems running anything at all.

The company that did the repairs for Tapwave came forward once tapwave died. They are selling off their stock (demo units, reflashsed, with an RMA unit also)

you can still find them on ebay of course! But I need my zodiac :P

The Tapwave Zodiac is very good, since it should be around or under $100 at Ebay. It is very cheap. :D
