Can you explain what you mean here? Best thing to do is to reply in the Mahjongg beta forum for help, or email Larry directly.

the other question that i have is how do you make your games for the palm, do you use a program or something
We write them in \'C\' and some Assembly language, basically from scratch.
We use GCC and PilRC and PRCTools2 - all of which are available as free downloads from www.palmos.com. (They aren\'t easy to use for beginners, though!)

We mostly use either TextPad or Emacs as the text editors we write in.
Most of the graphics are created either in Paint Shop Pro, or some parts in Adobe Photoshop.

In terms of books, there is only one for the Palm, which is probably reasonable for you to look at, called \"Palm OS Game Programming\". I bought a copy earlier this year, but didn\'t learn anything from it (its remarkably weak on details) but it isn\'t a bad place to start.

I would recommend though, starting to learn programming first, and then some simple games on a PC (either in Visual Basic, or one of the flavours of C), before trying on the Palm. There are just too many hurdles for the beginner!

I would recommend \"Windows Game Programming for Dummies\" by LaMothe, which is a good intro book. (No offense intended by the title - its actually quite good, and I have referred to it quite a few times)

Hope this helps!

Howard.

thanx for the fast reply had, and thank you for all the information that you have given me on with the question. oh, and i am not affended by the \'programming games for dummies\' book, that is what my dad told me would be the best java books to get, he even has some like xml for dummies and otehrs. the thing i was wondering about the graphics though is, how do you know how many pixals to use for the palm when you are using print shop pro or the other program you said you use (i have both). oh, and on the mahjongg thing, you know the way that you programmed it, you can only install it to you rpalm and use your code becasue it won\'t let you change your name in the register screen. like on my palm it would show name=Conner Wright
ID #=_____________
well, then when i beam it to my dad\'s it shows the same thing, but with his name so i cannot change it. so basically, it jsut beamed the demo. is there anyway to beam it to family members.
