Hi,

on my Palm TX Sudoku needs more energy than going online with WIFI. In 15 Minutes I loose 5% Energy. That means 1 hour = 20 %. And my Displaylight is on lowest position.
How is it possible? With no other program I have that problem. Does someone watching such a energy pollution on his Palm or TX?

thanks, klausmannn

Sudoku, as most of our games, keeps the processor alive quite a lot since it is performing calculations. (As well as processing user input and updating the screen.)

We are hoping to optimise further in the future so that it can turn the CPU for some time inbetween your number entries, but that will only make a small difference - the majority of energy is in keeping the screen on.

Howard.

I would not treat this issue lightly.

This program uses up my TH-55 battery extremely fast and there is no need for it to be doing lots of work in the background while it is waiting for me to be making a decision.

It isn't something I treat lightly, however even using the CPU at full speed only accounts for a fraction of the power usage compared to the screen. But, I am hoping to have some optimisation reducing how often the game polls for input and redraws the screen contents, etc.
