I had a similar problem myself after buying a new device. It sounds like your PC hasn't made the connection between the file type and Palm Installer. If you open Palm Quick Install (if you have it) or Palm Desktop and click install, you'll get a window open. Once you have this drag the extracted puzzle file from the folder into this window and it should allow you to Hotsync the puzzles across.
If this doesn't help, please reply here so our support team can look into the issue further.
Kind regards

Hi
You can find additional puzzles at our dedicated Sudoku site here: http://www.windowsmobilesudoku.com/pages/free.php
It also has instructions on how to get them onto your Pocket PC. If you're still having problems after that, please let us know.
Kind regards

Allison,
I tried the link. It says pocketpc, but the files are palm data base files???? Is this correct, i.e. use palm files for the pocketpc?
It seems as if there is a mix up with the palm files showing up under the pocketpc games??

Yes, they are, but if you follow the instructions above which tells you how to open the ActiveSync window and copy them across, then they'll work just fine. The Windows Mobile versions of the game will happily read these data files.
As you'll see from my sig below I've got 2 WM devices, and these are what I'm using too.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards

Will these install to an SD card or do they HAVE to be on the main RAM of a PocketPC? I tried copying them to the "My Documents" that I have on SD card and it doesn't work. This is a fairly standard request -- was wondering if I'm missing something?

I was not able to get the puzzles packs to run from my CF card. I guess they have to be installed to main memory.
**edit** I did notice that after the game loads these new puzzle packs they are removed from that location. I'm not sure where they go from there.

Thanks for the confirmation! I did a little bit of testing/digging myself and noticed that the puzzle packs "disappear" when Sudoku is launched.
It appears to me that they go to "Program Files___Astraware___Sudoku___AwSU-PuzzleData.pdb" (I think). (Replace the ___ with a backslash... for some reason they get stripped out when I post). I'd like to stuff my ppc full of puzzles, but I'd rather they go to SD card.
In the meantime, I'll just install a puzzle pack at a time (for each category) and delete the puzzles as I solve five or ten or so, that way I don't get any repeats (although I hear repeats are pretty uncommon, esp. with the "Create Puzzle" feature. :)

Howard has told me that the number of possible puzzles that can be created is in the billions. Even if you spent all day, every day doing Sudoku puzzles, it's unlikely that you'd be able to do them all in a lifetime.
I personally can't remember which ones I've done from one week to the next!

This is true, I doubt I'd recognize a repeat once five minutes went by, hahahaha! :)

Apologies that I can't help with the Pocket PC specifics, but I do know that once the game recognises extra packs, it loads and combines them into a single database file, and will remove the smaller ones. Think of it as feeding the Sudoku database ;)

What if I've done all the additional packs for a particular category and would like more puzzles? For example, I have downloaded and completed Diabolical-1 through Diabolical-5 and would like additional diabolical puzzles. Is there another source for these puzzles, or will there be a future release? I'm running version 1.00.

I'm intending to create and upload some more puzzle packs shortly, so especially for the puzzles that take a long time to create on the handheld, there'll be plenty more to choose from.
