level 3, seems to always lead to roadblock

There are a number of hints and tips available within our FAQ list (check out "help" from the navigation bar and search for "Zap Hints")

As for getting past that road block... when both roads are blocked, but you've got a ship with plenty of firepower... ;) ;)
