Is this true?
Cheat mode:
Enter one of the following codes during game play to activate the corresponding cheat function. Repeat a code to disable its effect.
Effect - Code:
Toggle border display - noframe
Original Bejeweled gems - oldskool
Winter background - xmas
Space background - starfield

I dunno about the non-PC version(s), but for the PC version all of the above indeed works.
P.S. The "oldskool" cheat supposedly changes the gems to look like the original Shockwave Flash version of Bejeweled/Diamond Mine, but in all of the Flash versions that I've seen of BJ1/DM, the gems looked the same as the standalone deluxe version. After using the "oldskool" cheat in BJ2 (for PC), the gems look to me more like a stained-glass sort of thing than what I've seen in the Flash version of BJ1.

Hi all,
I don't think it's a good idea to post cheats about any games in a forum (Kieren has posted some posting guidelines somewhere) as it goes against the posting guidelines.
You can try contacting Popcap, as they licensed Bejeweled.

Thing is, these aren't really "cheats" per-say... they are simply Easter Egg visual-type effects that have no effect whatsoever on gameplay.

No, I don't think these work. I tried them in Action and Classic, at the in-game menu, and at the main menu. I also tried the stroke for 'Enter' after I typed these, but nothing happened. Additionally, these aren't described in the readme, and I don't think Bejeweled 2 can read graffiti strokes, either, or it would use the Easter Egg features in the original Bejeweled.

Hi folks,
If I recall correctly, these easter eggs are from Bejeweled 2 Deluxe, rather than the PDA versions, so I've moved the thread to the PC Games forum where it's most relevant :)
Warmest regards,
Kieren

Did anyone else feel the board move for them? ;)
Mark, who's in a really weird mood today... :)

too bad that these aren't in the palm version. I would have like a way to see the original jewels in v2. Would be neat to turn them on/off. Oh well.

My earlier post was reguarding the Palm version; I thought that was obvious, but this thread moved.

P.S. A little side effect of the "oldskool" cheat. Not only does it change the graphics of the gems, but it also forces the gems to remain visible when pausing the game in any of the various time-trial modes -:)

Like I posted previously though, I don't think they look anything like the original BJ1 gems (at least the versions of BJ1 that I own and have seen, as well as the Java versions).
To me, they look more like a stained-glass sort of thing. Mind you, they're quite nice looking, it's just that I've never seen those specific gem graphics in BJ1.
(Edit) My bad. It does indeed appear that the "oldskool" gems are definately from the earlier incarnations of BJ1/Diamond Mines -> http://www.globalshareware.com/Games/Puzzles/screenshots/Diamond-Mine.gif . My installed version of Popcap's Bejeweled (1), as well as the Java version that I have stored locally on my hard drive, look nothing like the above screenshot.
I suppose that they changed the graphics for the "Deluxe" versions of the game, as well as the newer Java versions.
