Welcome to the forum for Astraware Sudoku - our September release to please our game players who prefer a more mental challenge!

Sudoku itself takes a little learning to get into, and so we put together a help site with plenty of information - http://www.palmsudoku.com/ - a great place to start!

This particular forum is set up to help players who are new to the game, and are trying to learn how to use our version! There are lots of new features, some of which are unique to our version, some of which can be found in other games.

There are also lots of menu options - you might feel overwhelmed to begin with, but don't worry about asking questions here! The Astraware team will be happy to answer, and many of our beta testers are extremely knowledgeable about Sudoku in general, and our version in particular!

Check the existing threads to see if someone has already answered your question first, but if not, either follow up to an existing thread (where it makes sense) or start a new thread (or topic, as its referred to in this board).

Have fun!

Howard.

Congratulations with this version of Sudoku, it's a real gem!

The GUI is beautifully done (I expected no less of Astraware) and very clear, even for total newcomers to the game. And the set of features is rich enough to also keep advancing players interested for a long time. I especially like how you implemented the entry of numbers and pencil marks in the game and its 'gentle hint' feature.

I have some suggestions about additional features but I'll post them elsewhere (once I can tear myself away from the game for long enough).

I also really appreciate the supporting website with the puzzle packs and the solving hints. Out of curiosity, did you create these from scratch yourselves or did you collaborate with the author of one of the already available descriptions?

Greetings, Frans

Thanks Frans!
The puzzles, packs, Sudoku-of-the-day, and all of the examples on the website are all generated using the same engine that powers the PDA version. (Although it generates them faster on a 2GHz PC, surprisingly enough :p )

... the more I like it :) I think this is definitely the best version of Sudoku to come out for computers, handheld or otherwise! Congrats on another cracking release!

Mark, who's happily playing the Palm version on his PocketPC ('cause he couldn't wait for the PPC version) ;)
