Hi folks,

In light of some of the recent confusion regarding posting links to other websites and files (particularly with regards to savegame files for Bejeweled 2), I thought it best to post a more detailed definition of what rules we use when determining whether a link or file should remain or not.

The basic two rules are almost certainly common sense:
(*) Any post that is obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws will be removed immediately.
(*) Links to sites with any illegal software or content (such as cracked copies of commercial software) will be removed, the same holds true for ****ography. The perpetrator may also find themselves banned, so just don't do it.
(*) Commercial advertising of your products or another persons products without our express and prior permission will result in immediate deleting of the posts involved and banning. (This does not include "buy this game it's great", specifically it is intended for "ultra saver discounts now at our web shop!!" type posts)

Links or content which relates to editing, cheating or otherwise altering software which is not directly published by ourselves is usually beyond the normal remit of the Astraware boards, and will almost certainly have to come down, sorry. If you're unsure, ask me (mailto:kieren@astraware.com) and I'll let you know if it's likely to be a problem. If you don't check first, then don't be surprised if your post vanishes suddenly!

If the links or files apply to our published software (for instance fan pages, strategy guides), then they are usually fine, although I'd appreciate it if you could email me first to let me know. Built-in secrets are what we usually refer to as Easter-eggs, and its fine to post about these.

Warmest regards,
Kieren
