I have the Puzzle Pack card that I use on a Palm M515. Initially, all of the games worked fine. Then Mummy Maze began giving the "More heap memory required" error message. At first, removing and replacing the card, or starting another game and then exiting would clear this. Now, nothing works. The other four games work fine. Info shows 8.5 MB of free space out of 15.7, which is about what it has always been. Am I missing something obvious? Does this game really require that much free space? Will deleting documents on the palm to free up space solve this, and if so, how much free space is required? Any help would be much appreciated. I've gotten seriously addicted to this game.

I kept looking for a solution to this, and I finally found one. I tweaked the search criteria until I found an old message on a web site from 1999 talking about this issue in Palm Pilots and IIIs. With less memory space, this was more of a problem with them, I guess, although I never experienced it with mine. The problem boils down to the way heap memory is allocated and released by programs. The space gets fragmented in a way analogous to the way a FAT hard drive space gets fragmented. The solution is to perform a reset of the Palm device, which resets the heap memory space. Kind of a kludge, but it works. I have no idea if the problem originates with any fo the Astraware games, some other program that I run, or if it is inherent in the Palm OS. I know that I have had this problem in the past with PCs running older Windows versions where some programs, including some MS programs, did not cleanly let go of memory space on termination. Anyway, prolem solved. Now I can happily go back to Mummy Maze.
