Rocket Mania Upgrade from Trail Version

Ok, I have three questions...

1.) I currently have the trial version but recently purchased the licensed version. Do I need to uninstall the trial version or can I just enter the registration key?

2.) Depending on the above answer how do I go about keeping my high scores? (more like my wifes, she has smoked every high score I have posted, darn it)

3.) How can I tell if the trial version is the most updated version? I noticed a post on March 8th in regards to a version 1.01. Not sure again if I need the updated version?

Just enter your registration key and voila.. the game is registered.

Look at ABOUT in the menu. It will tell you what version you have.

The trial version I have is 1.0, from the 3/8 post it looks like the newest version is 1.0.1. What was changed, fixed, added, etc.?

The same question exist then. It appears that if I want to upgrade to 1.0.1 then I need to uninstall and reinstall the new version. Is there a way to keep my highscores? Thanks.

I have a feeling the update was to allow exporting of the high score table to the website.

If you uninstall and reinstall, your high scores will be lost unfortunately. Palms delete any associated data files when a game is uninstalled.

So, the solution for you would be to not uninstall. The upgrade is designed so it can just be installed right over the old. If you do this, everything should stay intact including license/registration info and high scores! (At least for the Palm version...I'm not sure about PocketPC)

Unfortunately, the upgrade from version 1.0 to version 1.01 will result in your existing high scores being lost :(

Normally when you upgrade one of our games (by installing the latest version over the top of the old), this will not happen as we do our best to keep those parts of the game the same wherever possible.

Unfortunately, it is sometimes necessary to alter the game stores the high scores occasionally, to improve performance and reduce memory use, or more often, to eliminate a potential method of cheating. If the update includes a fix for such a cheat, then we have to cause it to wipe the old scores, or fixing the cheat had no point :(

Version 1.01 did eliminate one such cheat, but also added the ability to export high scores to our online high score tables, but here's a list of some of the other things fixed:
(*) Added Export High Score function
(*) New Title screen
(*) Fixed several bugs relating to exiting to the Palm launcher while playing
(*) Coins now carry over to next level correctly
(*) Fixed problems which could result in "stuck" flame graphics and non-rotating tile pieces
(*) Other minor bug fixes and improvements

So to answer your original question, you don't need to have the updated version, but it does include a number of bug fixes which you may want to have. Besides, think of it as a way to catch up with your wife's scores ;)
