I love to play Bejeweled at work, but I just installed it on my Palm Tungsten T2 and I can't work out how to mute the (loud) music. My boss will surely notice that I'm not working when he hears that noise....!

There doesn't seem to be an area at the top of the screen that I can press to get a "menu" button like on my old Clie... the "t" for tweak thing doesn't work because of the graffiti2...

How can I get the music (and nasty sounds) to stop?

Thanks.

Hi Stelly,

There are actually two ways you can work around this problem, depnding on whether you want to mute just Bejeweled, or your whole palm (for when you're in a hurry ;) ).

To mute just Bejeweled, you will need to open the slider to access the buttons around the graffiti area. Just tap on the menu button (below the "home") icon, and the Bejeweled menus will open. From there, just tap on the "Options" menu, and select "Sound settings" - you can then adjust or mute the volume for sound effects and music separately!

To mute your whole Palm, which will also cause Bejeweled to recognise the fact and remain muted while the rest of the Palm is, you will need to go to the "Prefs" application (under the "System" category of icons). From this application, select "Sounds & Alerts", and then either mute individual settings, or tap on one of the buttons along the top to quickly silence everything. If you choose a button like "Silent", then tapping "Custom" again will restore your previous settings.

For reference:
"System sound" for the default beeps and HotSync effects.
"Game sound" for sound effects from games, though not all developers games will pay attention to this setting.
"Alarm sound" for any alarm related sound effects.

I hope that helps, but if you have any further questions, just let me know!

Warmest regards,
Kieren
