Gem Landing Sounds

This may sound a little silly - BUT - I really liked the little clicking sounds the gems mage when they landed in the older versions of Bejeweled. The more recent versions have this clanking noise that is not as nice. I have tried changing the gem landing sound in preferences but it will not change on my UX no matter which sound I pick - all I get is clanging. Is there any way to get the little clicks back without going back to the older versions?

I understand what you're saying :)

In earlier versions, it was a "click" sample that I used. In later versions, I used the same sound that PopCap use on the web version. The feedback I had at the time was that most people preferred that.

It may be possible to add in the click as one of the options - I will add that to the list to discuss next time we do an update.

I really miss those old sounds too! I would definitely love to see an option to use the old sounds on a new version.

Sign me up for "I want the old gem sounds back." I've been enjoying the copy of Bejeweled that a friend beamed me. So I go install the latest version, and it's... just missing that certain something with the new sounds.

With all due respect, the Astraware version is better than the original. It just sounds a little more... tactile. Put the clicky sounds back, and I'll register the dern thing.

Bejeweled 2 is purty, but huuuge.

Actually, Bejeweled 2 is not that big of a program. I have a game called Duck Hunt on my Palm that is 3800K, which is 2.5x the memory requirements of Bejeweled 2.
