I have been having problems with GTS Racing. When I exit the game my Sony Clie N760c will no longer respond to input using the stylus. The buttons and jog wheel continue to work. A soft reset does not cure the problem. Eventually, let\'s say five to ten minutes the ability to use the stylus on the screen comes back. This has only happened to me on my Clie after playing GTS Racing. Does anyone else experience this. I have almost two megabytes free on my internal ram so memory is not an issue.

Soooo,
When\'s the GTS Hi-RES version coming out? This will include the sound for Sony\'s like the T Series, and up?
That\'s I want to buy it! It great in a low res mode, but I want to pay for it when hi-res is out. Thanks.

You can buy it now, you will get the HiRes version for free when it comes out.

GTS Racing Challenge for hi-res is in rapid development - but there\'ll be quite some time as it goes through our internal alpha testing, a lengthy beta-test, and then a final internal full compatibility test.
I expect this is a couple of month\'s time.
We may raise the price (possibly to $19.95) when version 2.0 is released, but as mentioned, it will be an automatic upgrade to everyone who has purchased before the day we release.
Glad you like the game!
Regards,
Howard.

I knew about the free update, but I wanted to wait for hi-res. Like you said the price may increase, so I think I shall convince to wife to let me use the credit card! LOL. Thanks for the update.

I have done more work trying to isolate my difficulty with GTS Racing and my Sony Clie. The game is so much fun that I want to work it out. First, on my Clie N760C the more memory that I can keep free the better it is for the program. I have 2 megs free. However, there does seem to be a conflict with Jot. My recommendation is, if you are running Jot disable it before running GTS Racing. I also disable all hacks as well.

Well, it is happening again! This time, all of the hacks are off, jot is disabled. I played the hard level. The Clie N-760C froze at the placement screen (Fourth Place...)For awhile, even the buttons did not work. The \'Back\' button works. Once out of the game, the jog wheel works. However, there is no response when the stylus is used. I have performed a soft reset. This did not alleviate the problem. In most situations the Clie becomes usuable again after about ten minutes. I am not sure why. This only happens when I play GTS Racing (which is probably the best game I have ever played on a Palm based unit)Still, I would prefer if this glitch did not happen.

OK, we\'ll start hammering the game on an 760 to see if we can get similar probs.
Are you using Hi-Res Assist ?

No, I have that turned off for the game. Also, it seems that the digitizer get thrown for a loop. In other words, when I do get it to work, when I get it to work again, I have to recalibrate the touch screen. Recently, this has not helped. I am beginning to susp[ect my unit may be faulty. I am going to take it back and get a replacement just in case. I have it on a three year, no hassle return policy. So I am going to see if a new unit helps.

Okay, I took back the Clie N760C, as I mentioned in my last post. I swapped it for an Clie NX60, OS 5. (I upgraded for a little bit more money) I brought the new unit home, loaded the new Sony software then hotsynched. This reinstalled all the databases etc. from my N760C. So guess what happens? As soon as I reset the Clie it behaves just like the N760, the screen won\'t receive input from the stylus! So I do a hard reset. The unit comes back and works fine. I do another hotsynch, this time before I hotsynch, I delete GTS Racing and the GTS registered database from the archive so it will not reinstall. Still no go!! There is some remaining leftover which messes up the Clie\'s ability to receive input from the screen. What do I need to delete to get rid of this problem? AS I said, there is a basic conflict somewhere. HELP!

Okay, I deleted the saved and unsaved preferences from my Clie files on my hard drive so when I hotsynched again the Clie worked fine. Now I am going to try the program on the new Clie nx60

All is well. It works fine on the Clie NX60! At least I have not encountered any problems. Just in case I backed up the Saved Preferences file. The game runs a lot faster on this unit than the Clie N760c. The game has only cost me about 110 dollars considering the upgrade of the Clie and the GTS Racing game itself. Anyway, it works!

The game shouldn\'t be able to affect the performance of your clie while it isn\'t running - in particular the digitiser is only normally changed via your prefs routine.
It does sound as if you\'ve run into a faulty unit... (!)

Now that I have GTS Rqacing running, how about adding a Hall of Fame screen? This game is really fun and amazing when one considers what one has to work with from a programming perspective and the limited capabilities of a PDA processor.
