1. Might the board topic be in the subject line of the e-mail sent out for replies. For example, instead of "Reply to your post," the subject would say, "Reply to your post in thread What exactly are Widgets?"
2. I notice that I get an e-mail when I post to a thread I'm subscribed to. You might have it check the addresses it is sending notifications to, so as to make sure that none of them is the posting user.
Thanks,
Scott

Its a good suggestion!
If we let Dave have some time away from writing our Palm compatibility code etc, that's one (or two) of the changes worth making.

Any more suggestions, while on the topic ?

One that I forgot to mention: You might have the computer check to see if a user has viewed a given thread since the last reply notification was sent. This would prevent too many reply notifications from being sent to one person about the same board.
My second one this time isn't really a boar suggestion, but more a procedural one: Please, please, please send e-mails to testers about ALL betas. I posted in the Maverick betas area that, though I checked the general beta area well-nigh every day, I missed that down at the bottom and didn't see it until after all the games had been released.
Thanks,
Scott

Well, I decided to try my hand at PHP and SQL and do it myself, and so now it should do as suggested!
(i.e. include the subject line in the reply.)

Plus - you shouldn't get notifications to your own post either :)
