Howard, maybe you can add a in the \'Games Galore\' category, \'Palm Games\' and \'PPC games\'. It would be great to have a place to talk about non AW palm and ppc games, without having to talk about them in middle of other threads.

Great idea! I was just thinking the same thing :)

I think that that would be pretty cool too. THen you can always find games that you may like just by asking other beta testers, or just telling what games you like in general for the PPC\'s and Palm\'s.

Howard, what it the story? Are you considering putting these new categories in or not?

It would be helping the competition!

Rather, it may put me in a position where I have a conflict of interests. Those forums are public access (i.e. don\'t require a beta level), so in effect anything said (or censored!) there would be public information, and because it is on the Astraware site, carries at least a partial acknowledgement from Astraware. ( \"Mr X. said on the Astraware boards that ..... \" )
Astraware develops (primarily) PDA Games, and so raising a forum encouraging posts for other developers\' games, could make it awkward. I think it is diplomatically best for me to not create such a category here. There are lots of other great software developers out there (and lots of shady ones too), but rather better for us not to discuss these on the Astraware boards. (Now, the chatroom is a different matter).
Putting up categories for games on other platforms doesn\'t raise the same problem possibilities, and so they\'re just fine.
I hope that seems reasonable!
Howard.

I understand Howard. It isn\'t possible to have some categories in games galore shown and some not? In am sure with a click here and a click there you can do it:)

Maybe my English isn\'t fluent enough, but didn\'t Howard just write a lengthy and coherent explanation of why he isn\'t going to do that? Why pester him about it?

\"I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer previously given\"...
Ah, it all sounds so simple....
Beta status level applies to a category, and the individual forums within all use the same category.
Even though technically it would be possible to do some kind of strange override system (anything\'s possible, just ranges from easy to unpleasantly difficult), I\'m not going to make the change there in the near future, for the reasons given above.

I just noticed you changed your mind Howard:)What? Where? - I can not see a Palm / PPC category in the Games Galore section.
As far as I can see, only the setion titles have been modified for clarity.

Nope, no changes to the system.
I updated the categories to use the final beta levels.
I moved one or two of the beta forums into more relevant categories.
I didn\'t make exception lists for forums within categories, which would have been difficult.
