1st Person Shooters [Archive]

I personnally like 1st person shooters (I also like third, but not as much). By far my favorite would be Half-Life: Counterstrike, Medal of Honor:Allied Assault (and Spearhead expansion), Battle Field 1942, or C&C Renegade.

Hmmmmmm... on my end, I\'ve got Rouge Spear + 2 expansions (Urban Operations and Black Thorn), and Quake III Arena. I plan to pick up a copy of Half Life: Counterstrike when I get a chance. What\'s your opinion of it - is it good?

Halflife is definitely worth buying, since many good mods have been made for it, like Counterstrike, Day of Defeat or Frontline Force. I personally like Day of Defeat best, I sometimes get bored while playing Counterstrike. I\'m currently beta testing the new Coutnerstrike 1.6 and that could change that... ;)

Counterstrike is multiplayer only. I prefer more wholesome experiences, not tainted by cheaters and 5 minute matches.
Jedi Knight, Deus Ex, Half-Life all top-notch SINGLE player FPS\'s.

Yes, I like single player games, but mainly multiplayer. I will beat the game several times and just play on the internet the rest of the time. Plus, I can\'t wait for the CS 1.6 to be done (I also downlaoded Steam 2.0 and CS 1.6 beta, but it never works. I have only been able to enter the game once, and it exited automatically after I changed settings). I love the tactical shield, I saw it in a gameplay movie.

Plus, a new Coutnerstrike will be out too. It is called CS:CZ (Coutnerstrike:Condition Zero). In it, there will be single player missions too.

Oh, MP3, I think it is extremly fun, it was one of the \"game of the Year\" games for like two or three years. Anyways, it is fun. It is fairly fast paced too. But, I wouldn\'t get it unless you have some sort of internet connetcion. If you do, just go buy Half-Life and then download Counterstrike from www.cscentral.com.

You want a hard and good 1st person shooter....Hitman 2 is pretty cool. I got it free too with my SB Audigy 2 sound card. :)

Isn\'t there like nudity in that game though? I have played Hitman before (my friend let me borrow it so I could burn it), and I like that game, but I don\'t like the idea of the \"m\" on the box for nudity, blood and violance (blood and violance I am fine with).

CZ is being developed by Raven, makes of Star Trek: Elite Force and Soldier of Fortune. Two unappreciated fps\'s. Everybody should play ALL PC games.

What is this supposed to mean? Are you saying that CZ is going to suck? I beg to differ! It will be a cool, fast paced, sinlge/online player game, kind of like CS right now, but w/o the single player. The thing that is taking them so long (it was supposed to be out last August) is that it has been under many different developers now. First Gear Box, then who ever is doing now (and I think on before them,?). Anyways, Gearbox dropped it because they are working on Halo for PC.

Besides, I do play a variety of games.
